My art work takes inspiration from nature & the human body,
history & heritage, maps & memories, haberdashery & found objects.

It reflects my love of traditional crafts used in a contemporary way.

I use colour & tactile qualities passionately!

My own work ranges from fine fibre paper to heavy hand rolled felt;
from hand dipped plaster garments to sun-print stitched hangings;
from felted elfin-like baby bootees to customized costumes.

My passion in art and crafts, community and education are self-expression as a means of communication, building confidence and self esteem and restoring dignity to those who have suffered abuse, addiction, violence and exclusion. My work as a community artist and tutor in the past decade has included young children and families, special needs of all ages, ethnic minority groups, sufferers of domestic abuse, older people with Dementia and Alzheimer's, and extensive projects with teenagers who are excluded from mainstream education and young people involved in drug abuse, prostitution, alcoholism and crime. My collaboration with drama, dance and words workers has given me further insight into ways of addressing social inclusion through visual art.

I continually look to observe new skills and techniques, meet new people with similar outlooks from other organisations and further connections with partnerships. I hope to further both my personal learning and professional development while gaining new ways of working and exploring current ideas.

I am passionate about my work and my own art/textile work has developed more in the past few years. I am committed to tackling social and economic breakdown by local led regeneration initiatives combining art work with other community work.

See the archive page for past events, shows & the exhibition of Prisoners work I curated at The Peter Scott Gallery in Lancaster University,& Doncaster Community Art Gallery for my friend & colleague Professor Anita Wilson, Prison Ethnographer.

I have taken part in Open Up Studios for the past 4 years and many art shows & craft fairs.
I am now working with CIDA & Urban Biz through Success Doncaster to develop my freelance business & promote the Fringe.
Im trying new ways of raising my profile with a blog & facebook & other free sites! See below?
